Fresno State didn’t have a very good Sunday, losing 69-61 to Long Beach State at the Save Mart Center. But while the ‘Dogs work through some growing pains, the teams they have beaten this season are making them look better than they did against the 49ers.
Pacific beat Xavier and St. Mary’s at the DirectTV Classic in Anaheim before losing to Cal in the championship game over Thanksgiving weekend. And on Sunday, Cal Poly went to UCLA and beat No. 11 UCLA at Pauley Pavilion 70-68.
Fresno State beat 66-61 and won at Cal Poly last week 76-67.
Cal Poly was down by 18 points in the second half against the Bruins, but went on a 34-14 run capped by a pair of free throws by Kyle Odister with 14.2 seconds remaining.
The Bulldogs get their shot at UCLA on Dec. 22 at Pauley Pavilion.
