Fresno State quarterback Derek Carr racked up another player of the week award on Thursday, after the Bulldogs’ victory over the Air Force in which he completed 28 of 32 passes for 452 yards and four touchdowns to clinch a share of the Mountain West championship, their first league title since 1999.
The junior from Bakersfield added the Manning Award player of the week to honors from the conference, the Walter Camp Football Foundation and College Football Performance Awards.
The victory over the Falcons marked the third time Carr has had 400 or more passing yards this season, setting a Mountain West single-season record.
Carr also won the Manning player of the week award following the Bulldogs’ victory at New Mexico, and is one of three two-time winners this season along with Devin Gardner from Michigan and Geno Smith from West Virginia. He passed for 416 yards and four touchdowns in that victory over the Lobos.
